Springtide Press designs, prints and binds unique artist books, broadsides and ephemera incorporating handmade paper and letterpress printing. Small finely-crafted editions consider historical topics and popular culture from a unique perspective. Located in Tacoma, Washington in a 1890s garage, Springtide Press includes a large collection of vintage foundry type, printing presses, a perforator as well as bindery equipment, most of which is well over 100 years old.

Proprietor Jessica Spring has been designing, papermaking and printing for more than twenty years. She loves working with vintage metal type and handmade papers, but also with heavy-duty printing equipment (which she moved cross country from Chicago to Tacoma). Jessica has an MFA from Columbia College Chicago Center for Book and Paper and her work is included in collections including Northwestern University, Yale, Art Institute of Chicago, Newberry Library, Multnomah County Library in Portland, University of Vermont, and the University of Washington and has been exhibited throughout the U.S., Canada, and in London.

Jessica teaches at Pacific Lutheran University's Elliott Press and at The School of Visual Concepts in Seattle and is a member of the Fine Press Book Association, the Amalgamated Printers Association and the Guild of Bookworkers.
